Sales Engineer Position at Binkelman

Binkelman is looking for a Sales Engineer to join our growing team. This is a relationship-based sales role that will require you to develop and create new opportunities within your customer base.

As a consultative Sales Engineer, you will be working with plant managers, purchasing agents, engineers, maintenance and safety personnel on a regular basis and will be expected to add value and provide solutions at every level.

Primary Duties

  • Achieve sales and profit targets by developing new business as well as growing existing customers
  • Develop strong relationships with customers
  • Sales and service activities including sales calls, problem solving, product application analysis, new and existing product presentations
  • Identify customer needs and provide product and application solutions
  • Preparing sales reports, creating strategic plan to accomplish sales goals
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the entire sales process
  • Develop quotes, follow-up quotes, maintain open orders, be flexible and adapt to customer’s needs

Working Conditions

  • Job may require some overtime, weekends, traveling, and after-hours service
  • May encounter some hazardous industrial environments or applications
  • Frequently exposed to noise and a regular flow of people around the office and at customer locations
  • Frequently driven by changing priorities

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years Industrial outside sales experience with bearing, power transmission, conveyor belting and/or fluid power products
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree preferred however, prior equivalent experience and training will be considered in lieu of formal degree.
  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Proven success developing, maintaining and managing a sales territory
  • Great communication skills
  • Computer skills and knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Aggregate, Agriculture, Cement, Steel, Glass, Automotive, Recycling, Refinery, Plastics, Food Processing and Lumber industry knowledge
  • Knowledgeable in products and applications
  • Familiarity with distribution industry
  • Valid driver’s license
